NEW YORK — The Hunter College men's tennis team picked up two CUNYAC awards this week, as Alexander Hagiu was named men's tennis Player of the Week and Savio Francis earned Rookie of the Week honors following their performances in a 7-2 victory over John Jay.

Hagiu led the way at the top of the lineup, teaming with Raymond Leu for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles before cruising to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. Francis also delivered a strong showing, partnering with Anil Singh for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles and posting a dominant 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 4 singles.

The Hawks secured the No. 3 seed with the win over John Jay and advanced to the CUNYAC Semifinals, where they fell to Brooklyn College.
