BOX SCORE Jamaica, N.Y. - Hunter College men's tennis got its second win of the 2019 season on Wednesday when they defeated York College in a sweep of 9-0.
The Hawks improved to 2-1 and start conference play 1-0.
The Purple and Gold took all three doubles matches, led by the effort of
Nasser Ghaffar and
Nicholas Caicedo, who took down their opponents at the No. 1 spot with a score of 8-2. The duos of
Jose Agregado/
Kyle Burrus and
Ryan Hwang/Rhondondo Jeraman chipped in victories at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Hunter swept the Cardinals in singles as Ghaffar took the No. 1 court (6-1, 5-0) and Agregado won at No. 2 (6-0, 6-0). Caicedo, Jeraman, Hwang and
Noah Dougherty all took down their opponents to solidify the Hawks' 9-0 team victory.
The squad returns to action on March 23 when they host John Jay at 12 p.m.
