Damianos “Dennis” Markou earned All-American honors during his senior year, capping off an outstanding career as a member of the Hawk wrestling team. He was a three-time national qualifier, earned All-State honors during his junior year when he went undefeated in duals meets with a 16-0-2 record. At that time, both the New York State and Metropolitan Tournaments included NCAA Division I, II and III wrestlers. At the time of his induction, he held the season and career records for dual meet takedowns.
