The only individual to ever win CUNYAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors in both volleyball and basketball, Krista Brooks stands out as one of the most talented athletes in Hunter College history. On one court, she led the women’s volleyball team to four CUNYAC Championships, four New York State Tournaments and a 141-45 record from 1986-89. She was named conference MVP as a junior in 1988. A year later, the Hawks won their first ECAC Championships. On the basketball court, she led the team to its first CUNYAC Tournament title as a sophomore in 1987-88. She was selected as the MVP due to her outstanding play. The team posted a 74-36 record during her career. She was a team captain in both sports and also played a year of softball.
