Louise Mead Tricard was a member of the field hockey team, but she distinguished herself as a national-class runner as a member of the 1959 U.S. Pan-American track and field team. In 1960 she set the American indoor national record in the 440-yard dash. Tricard was the co-director and founder of the Empire Track and Field Camp for Girls. She was also the manager of the USA-USSR Junior Track and Field team and head manager of the USA Junior Pan-American team.
