Playing during the top era of women’s volleyball at Hunter College, Yanick Sanon Eveillard is arguably the best defensive player in school history. The Hawks consistently ranked between seventh and ninth in the New York State women’s Collegiate Athletic Association rankings during her three seasons of competition. Hunter captured three CUNYAC Championships, qualified for three NYSWCAA Tournaments, won two ECAC titles and compiled a 108-33 cumulative record. Sanon was twice named a NYSWCAA All-Star (1989 and 1990), CUNYAC Most Valuable Player as a junior in 1989, and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region as a senior in 1990. Her 428 digs in her senior campaign set a school record that stood for a decade and still ranks second all-time.
